The Harley-Davidson began to became known when William Harley and Arthur Davidson produced last 1903 the first production of motorcycle. The motobike that was built was a racing bike. It was made in a small shed wooden branded Harley-Davidson Motor Company on the front door. After one year they produced 3 motorcycles for the public. V Rod Muscle Exhaust
When Harley-Davidson won the 1st race last 1905, they hired their first employee. Three years later, in 1908, Harley-Davidson sold the first motorcycle for use in police service to the Detroit Police Department. In 1912 H-D started establishing it’s 6 story factory and exports it’s first bikes to Japan, the first time sales were extended outside of the United States.
In 1914, H-D was identified as “The Wrecking Crew” as soon as they joined the national racing circuit. In 1917, part of the motorcyles they constructed were sold the military and was used as military and civilian bikes.
Half of the bikes in 1918 were transported to Military service of World War 1 and it was Roy Holtz the first soldier have ridden the H-D Motorcycle in Germany. The H-D became even more efficient in 1920, generated 2000 dealers in 67 countries.
The Harley-Davidson competitor’s were gone in 1931 except for the Indian Motorcycle Company. The Indian and Harley-Davidson motorcycle company were the only two remaining motorcycle companies.
For the reason that world gets into into World War 2, so does Harley go back into Military motorcycle generation, and the service school is transformed back into the military motorcycle service school, generally known as the Quartermaster School for military mechanics. During this time period the public could hardly get their hands on a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.
