If you want an option that has better shelf life, go for dry foods. Most of these dry varieties have no moisture left, so it does not spoil easily, especially during warmer weather. If you have top feeders, getting dry fish food is ideal since pellets and granules stay above or mid-water for a considerable time.

Live fish food, on the other hand, is a treat for many fish types, although live fish food is quite expensive compared to prepared foods. Water fleas, white worms, brine shrimp, and earthworms are just some of the live foods found in many pet shops. You need to be careful with live food, however, as some of them may come with diseases.

Anticipating the needs of your fish
